Travel Support for Students

We provide travel support with presenting authors who are graduate and undergraduate students and find difficulty coming up with the necessary money to attend the meeting.

*The amount of travel support will be almost equivalent to the package tour cost to Kumamoto, however, we may select awardees or reduce the support amount each awardee receives if number of applicants exceeds our budget capacity since our budget is limited.
If you can attend the meeting with your own financial resources: travel support from your lab, scholarship or income getting from your part-time job, you are kindly reqeusted not to apply for the travel support.

To supervisors

This travel support is targeted at students who have strong aspirations for delivering presentations and having discussions at the meeting but have financial difficulties to join the meeting since the meeting budget is limited. For that reason, we would like to ask you to avoid your students’ applying this travel grant as much as possible if your laboratory has received a certain research funding such as Scientific Research B or higher, Grant-in-Aid for Transformative Research Areas, or AMED grant. In addition, students who can attend the meeting with their own financial resources: scholarship or income getting from their part-time job, are asked not to apply for this travel grant.

Acceptance/Rejection Notice and amount of the travel

The members of Organizing Committee will decide recipients and amount of the travel grant after the application period is closed. The congress secretariat will notify all applicants of the result, and will inform recipients of the grant amount and how to receive it by email in mid-October.

*The amount of travel support will be almost equivalent to the package tour cost to Kumamoto, however, we may select awardees or reduce the support amount each awardee receives if number of applicants exceeds our budget capacity since our budget is limited.
The travel grant will be given directly to the travel grant recipients on the meeting site in Kumamoto for accounting reasons. Please kindly understand that the recipients are required to pay their travel cost temporarily until they receive the grant money.
