We are very pleased to announce that the 101st Annual Meeting of The Physiological Society of Japan (PSJ) will be held on March 28-30, 2024 at Kitakyushu International Conference Center and West Japan General Exhibition Center (5-minute walk from JR Kokura Station). We are honored to hold the 101st Annual Meeting of The PSJ in Kitakyushu City for the first time.

Physiology has contributed greatly to the development of life sciences and medicine in general as a discipline that pursues the truth of life and elucidates the principles of life. The Annual Meeting of The PSJ has been held every year as a valuable venue for all those engaged in physiological research and education to gather together to present their latest research and to actively exchange information on physiological research and education.

At the 100th Anniversary Meeting in Kyoto, the past of physiology was reviewed and the prospects for the next 100 years were discussed. The 101^st Annual Meeting entitled “New Horizon in Physiology – Diversity and Harmony in Life-“ will be presented as the first step for the next 100 years. We hope that you will join us to discuss the fascinating aspects of physiology, which covers a wide range of life, from molecules to social behavior at the beautiful harmony of life and consider the good future of physiology. We really look forward to seeing participants friendly without hesitation under control of COVID-19 pandemic for over 4 years.

Kitakyushu City is well known as Yahata Steel Works and related factories, historic place such as Dannoura and the Kanmon Straits where are famous for Genpei Battle, Kitakyushu Museum of Natural History & Human History, Kokura Castle etc that are recommended as sightseeing. You can also enjoy fresh fish and seafood because the Genkai Sea closes to Kitakyushu. In addition, we plan a public lecture entitled “Journey of Life: Dinosaur and Animal from Sea to Land and Sky” on March31, 2024.
