<Requirements for Presenters of Free Papers>
- A membership of MBSJ or ESJ is a must. Also, payment of annual membership fee for 2018 must be completed.
If you are not a member, please apply for a membership first. For those who have not paid this year’s annual membership fee, please complete the payment as soon as possible.
- Abstracts must be submitted by presenters.
The name of the person who submitted an abstract will be automatically marked as the presenter in the program booklet and the online abstracts/app.
- Only one abstract can be submitted per person as a presenter.
Names of presenters can be included as co-authors of abstracts submitted by other participants.
<Notes for Appointed Speakers of Symposia / Workshops>
- For those who have been appointed as a speaker of a symposium or a workshop, the secretariat will send an ID and a password to access the submission system by e-mail in mid-June. Please log in the system and submit your abstract by July 31 (Tue). If you lose your ID/password, please contact the secretariat.
- The URL of abstract submission system for appointed speakers is different from that for free papers.
- Appointed speakers cannot submit an abstract for free paper for poster or workshop.
- Appointed speakers who are a member of MBSJ or ESJ are required to register for the meeting.

Please access Abstract Submission Page and complete advance registration first according to the instructions.
- Application for presentation at workshop
All workshops held in MBSJ2018 are calling for abstracts for presentation from free papers.
If you want to make a presentation at a workshop, please choose one theme you prefer from the list of workshops. After the review by the organizers of workshops and the program committees, we will notify you of the result by e-mail in early September.
Please note that the abstracts selected for presentation at workshops are also required to be presented at poster sessions.
Please choose 1 topic for your abstract from the List of Topics.
- Length of Abstract
The abstract body should be less than 1,700 characters (not words) in English.
- Authors’ Index
Author’s index will be created based on the names entered by the authors. If the spelling of the name is different, it will not be shown as the same person on the program booklet and the online abstracts/app.
- Posters in a Row
You can display your poster in a row with the other posters which are related to your abstract. Please access the application page from the button below and register the order of posters.
In the process of this application, all the presenters’ names and the abstract submission numbers will be required.
- Confirmation Notice
Confirmation message will be sent automatically to the registered e-mail address after completion of abstract submission. If you do not receive a confirmation mail within a few minutes, please log in the system again and check if your abstract submission has been completed properly.
- View/Edit of Submitted Abstracts
You can modify submitted abstract via online only during the submission period.
Please pay attention to Greek alphabet, Italic, superscript, subscript, and mathematical expression.
- Withdrawal of Submitted Abstracts
You can withdraw submitted abstract via online only during the submission period.
Notice of Acceptance / Rejection
Notice of Acceptance/Rejection will be sent by e-mail in early September.
